RENAULT UK ANNOUNCES STEVE BACKSHALL AS NEW CAPTUR CROSSOVER AMBASSADOR
Renault UK has signed up well-known Childrens Author Steve Backshall as its official new Captur crossover ambassador, which perfectly matches his adventurous spirit and personality.
The French marque’s stylish new model boasts the expressive style and driving position of a SUV, is as practical as an MPV and has the handling and driving pleasure of a hatchback.
Steve said: “It would be insane for me to drive around in a big gas guzzler and Renault Captur has the eco-credentials in terms of low CO2 emissions and fuel consumption I look for in a car. I want something that is economical and which will not destroy the planet.
“What’s more it looks fantastic – I love the orange roof and it’s amazing to be one of the first in the country to get behind the wheel of one. Captur is great to drive and ticks every box for me. I can’t wait to take it on more of my adventures.”
The rock climber, explorer and mountaineer opted for a black Captur Dynamique MediaNav with contrasting orange roof from the Arizona collection, with black upholstery and orange highlights.
Despite its striking looks, there is also a hidden practical side to the Captur – which starts at a competitive £12,495. Intrepid Steve is particularly impressed with the clever dual-height bootfloor and zipped, removable and washable seat covers as he is always carrying muddy boots and climbing equipment on his travels.

He was also the star attraction at Westfield London W12 last month for the new Renault’s major ‘Capture Life Experience’ – the largest ever product launch in the capital’s premier shopping venue.
The French marque had a colourful and 100% interactive presence throughout June, including a series of Steve-approved daring and entertaining activities for the entire family. He also signed autographs and spoke to his ever-growing fanbase of all ages.
